What could be better than a celebration of shopping, curated cocktails, fine art and friendship? What an evening we have in store for you at Friend’s Night Out at the Smithsonian Craft Show! Enjoy the most prestigious juried show and sale of contemporary American fine craft in the stunning setting of the National Building Museum. 120 premier artists are selected by 3 judges from a pool of 1000 craftspeople nationwide. Their works represent 12 different media - basketry, ceramics, decorative fiber, furniture, glass, jewelry, metal, mixed media, paper, wearable art and wood. Whether you are a serious collector or a casual visitor, you will find one-of-a-kind works of art in all price ranges.
There is no better time to visit the craft show than during Friend’s Night Out! We’ll enjoy signature cocktails created by notable Washington mixologists – a craft itself! While sipping and strolling, connect with the artists and learn more about their pieces, techniques and inspirations. The show strives to inform and educate about craft-making, not merely showcase and sell art.
Our perfectly-crafted evening begins with a 3:00 pm departure from Oheb serving cold drinks and light refreshments en route. A lovely boxed dinner from the pop-up café will be waiting for you at the National Building Museum to pick up and enjoy at your leisure, along with one complimentary cocktail. Additional cocktails and beverages are available for purchase. At the end of the evening, we’ll load our new treasures onto the coach, sit back and relax with dessert, before an anticipated arrival back in Baltimore at 8:45 pm.
