AN AMERICAN GIRL’S DAY OUT IN NEW YORK!

The Tenement Museum & American Girl Place

Make a dream come true for that youngster in your life and share an experience that will make everlasting memories for both of you! On this special day we’ll step back in time to join American Girl’s newest historical doll, Rebecca, a 9-year-old living in New York in 1914. We’ll “walk in her grandparent’s shoes” at the Tenement Museum on the Lower East Side led by a costumed interpreter who will make the life of an immigrant come alive for you! She’ll lead us through an apartment in one of the tenement buildings that was home to as many as 10,000 people arriving via Ellis Island from two dozen nations between 1863 – 1935. They have been meticulously preserved and restored to their original condition and give you a wonderful snapshot of life back then.

Then we will head down Fifth Avenue to the American Girl Place where a table has been reserved for you and your doll (there are special “Sassy Seats” for the dolls!)  in the American Girl Café. After lunch, the part you’ve been waiting for; check out the store, get your doll a new ‘do, get your picture taken for your own magazine cover and see all the latest outfits and accessories.

Diversions is making this a very special day beginning and ending with American Girl movies. In the morning we will serve a full breakfast and in the afternoon we’ll wrap up this delicious day with open bar, snacks, Carnegie Deli dinner, Bingo and special favors for the girls.
