A Broadway revival is brewing in this new Kennedy Center production of Follies, one of Sondheim's best loved works! The $6 million show will replicate the magnificence of the original with its opulent costumes, a full 28 piece orchestra and a sprawling cast of 42 including Elaine Paige, Florence Lacy, Jan Maxwell and David Sabin. Living Legend Bernadette Peters and Linda Lavin star as one-time members of a theatrical company similar to the Ziegfield Follies who gather for a reunion 30 years later on the eve of their theater’s demolition. As the guests remember the past the story of  2 couples unfolds along with all of life’s might-have-beens. The shadows of their younger selves remind them of the complicated steps they’ve danced – both on the stage and throughout their lives.

Winner of seven Tony Awards, Follies echoes the songs, exuberance, and romance of the lively vaudevillian days between the two World Wars. With such well-known tunes as Broadway Baby, I'm Still Here, Too Many Mornings, Could I Leave You? and Losing My Mind,  Follies gives words to the ghosts that haunt the stages of Broadway's great old theaters.
